MISSION
To promote education and enjoyment of gardening and related horticultural activites through education and philanthropy.
HISTORY
The WGGC has been active in the community since its inception in 1943 as the Men's Garden Club of Webster Groves. It was incorporated in 1984 as a non-profit organzation in the State of Missouri.
COMMUNITY ACTIVITIES
WGGC holds an annual plant sale in late April for the convenience of local gardeners, with most of the plant stock drawn from local gardens of members and their neighbors. The proceeds from the sale fund two scholarships for students enrolled in the horticulture program at St. Louis Community College at Meramec and provide plants for and the maintenance of flower gardens at the Webster Groves Green Space Garden at Rock Hill and Lockwood. WGGC holds regular monthly meetings at which an educational program is presented. These meetings are open to the public. Member events include social activities such as garden tours and an annual dinner.
